Nasheed vows to provide free higher education

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that his party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s 2018 manifesto will likely include providing a free higher education from Maldivian universities.

In a Facebook Live session on Saturday, Nasheed noted that young people get into financial trouble when pursuing a higher education, especially when having to pay MVR 3000 to MVR 5000 fees for colleges and universities.

He also vowed to provide hostels for university students, adding that these policies will be implemented in the new administration.

Nasheed has already disclosed some of his policies in his ongoing presidential campaign.
