Two arrests made over gang violence in Dhiffushi
First one was reported at 09:30 p.m and the second one followed shortly at 01:30 a.m
MPS arrested two individuals aged 31 and 33 under a court order
Injured was a german employee aged 56 and a Maldivian citizen aged 43

Two arrests have been made over the gang violence that occurred in Kaafu atoll Dhiffushi on Wednesday night.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that two individuals aged 31 and 33 were arrested under a court order regarding the violence of Wednesday night.

However, MPS did not disclose further information regarding the matter.

A gang violence was reported at 09:30 p.m on Wednesday night and a German employee, 56, at the island's driving center was reported injured. He has since been treated at the island's health center and released.

The second one was reported at 01:30 a.m early Thursday following which a 43 year-old Maldivian man was reported injured.

No serious injuries had been reported in either case.

Individuals had used iron rods to attack said persons in the gang violence and it is yet unclear whether both of the attacks are related or not.
