The government of Maldives and that of central Africa’s Equatorial Guinea have on Monday established formal diplomatic relations.
This was revealed through a joint communiqué signed by the permanent representatives of both countries in New York.

The signatories on the communiqué had been permanent representatives Ali Naseer, from the Maldives, and Anatolio Ndong Mba.
Maldives had recently established diplomatic relations with Congo, Zambia, and the Ivory Coast.
