Accusations have been raised that the various testimonies given by 'secret' witnesses, against detainees charged with terrorism, were leaked from within the criminal court.

RaajjeMV understands that police officers are currently questioning staff of the criminal court. in their investigation.

While the court's chief judge met with its staff on Tuesday to remind them of the sacredness of the fasting month of Ramadan, RaajjeMV has learnt that it was at this meeting that Judge Ibrahim Ali had told them that they suspect that the secret testimonies were leaked from within the court.

When contacted by RaajjeMV to inquire on the allegations against the court staff, Criminal Court's media official said that he has 'no knowledge' of such an issue.

While a total of nine detainees including Supreme Court Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed, Justice Ali Hameed and former Presdient Maumoon Abdul Gayoom along with several members of parliament face terrorism charges, testimonies given against them by various officials had been leaked on social media in early May.

The leacked testimonies include that of Judge Mohamed Haleem, Judge Adam Arif as well as several leading officers of the Maldives Police Service.
