Met Office has been issuing white alerts of several regions following severe weather conditions

The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued a white alert over regions northward of Laamu atoll following predictions of heavy rainshowers with thunderstorms.

The white alert issued over regions between Haa Alif and Laamu atolls takes effect from 6pm to 11pm on Monday.

The Met Office says that thunderstorms and heavy rain is expected with gusts of winds upto 40 miles per hour over said regions.

Met Maldives estimates severe weather conditions to prevail over the night

The Met Office estimates scattered rain and a few heavy showers followed by thunderstorms to prevail over northern and central atolls throughout the night, with a few showers likely to pour over southern atolls.

Weather conditions severe over Maldives

Within the past week, the Met Office issued several white alerts over different regions of the country following severe weather conditions prevailing over the country in the past few weeks.
