White alert issued in area between Haa Alifu and Meemu atolls
Seas are expected to be slight in southern atolls and moderate to rough over the rest of the country.

Maldives Meteoroligical Service (Met Office) has issued a white alert in between Haa Alifu and Meemu atolls on Saturday morning.
The white alert was issued due to heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in the area from 1:30pm to 6:30pm.
According to the Met Office, scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms will be experienced in north and central atolls with isolated showers in southern atolls from Saturday 10am to Sunday 10am.
Surface winds will be from south to south-westerly at 7 - 15 miles per hour in central and northern atolls and 3- 10 miles per hour in southern atolls with winds expected to gust up to 35 miles per hour during showers.
