The Criminal Court has rescheduled for Thursday the sentencing hearing for one of several criminal allegations put forth against Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Justice Hameed.

Prosecutors have put forth allegations of coercing other adjudicators to pass sentences in favour of their interests against both apex court justices. Both have thus far denied all allegations, of bribery and even terrorism, against them and denounced it all as unfounded and inadequete.

This particular hearing was rescheduled thrice on Wednesday. It was initially set for 4:00pm, then for 07:00pm, and 8:00pm. It was held and abruptly concluded after Justice Hameed, who has a heart condition for which he requires keen treatment, was rushed to a hospital and admitted there.

After the hearing was rescheduled for 09:30pm the court decided that proceedings will be open although all previous hearings have been held behind closed doors.
