First Lady Fathmath Ibrahim has arrived in Vilufushi island, as part of her Thaa atoll tour. 

She was greeted by Vilufushi Island upon arrival.

The First Lady was accompnaied by Vilufushi constituency MP Riyaz Rasheed, Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer, Housing Minister Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, as well as other officials of the party.

Ruling Party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) said that the purpose of the First Lady's tour throughout Thaa Atoll is to check on the lives and situations of the people.

It added that a special gathering is to be held on Friday night, in which the First Lady will partake in.

While the First Lady is visiting islands of Thaa atoll, there have been concerns over schools forcing students to go to the harbour area to welcome her.

As such, Principal of Thaa Atoll School, Mohamed Fayaas had published a formal notice instructing students to gather at the harbour area- in evening wear- for the receival of the First Lady in Guraidhoo island.
