Members of Dhidhdhoo island’s council, in Haa Alif atoll, has returned to work after being suspended for calling on the government to enforce a contentious Supreme Court order.
Four of the council’s members were suspended, all of whom had signed the statement calling on the government to do so.
Ali Hashim Didi, president of the council, said that they will remain perseverant in their efforts for reform and guaranteeing justice for all Maldivians.
The Maldivian Democratic Party, to which the four suspended councilors are signed, had organized a an event to welcome the councilors after their month-long suspension.
