State broadcaster Public Service Media has slashed the fees they charge to book the Olympus Theater by half.
The company will now charge MVR 2,000 for the duration of a show, while it used to charge 4,000.
The state-run company was given charge of the Olympus Theatre, Malé city’s oldest cinema hall, earlier this month.
A statement from the company said that it is currently working on upgrading the sound systems there and will give special attention to ‘installing more advanced facilities’.
The Olypus Theater was opened in 1959.
