Managing Director at Maldive Gas Private Limited, Abdulla Maumoon has bought off 362.5 square feet of land in the capital city Male', worth over MVR six million.

According to a Civil Court verdict passed on the 10th of April, the land purchased by Maumoon is located in Orchid Magu, where 'Number 23' shop is located. 

The verdict issued by the Civil Court also states that Maumoon is now the proprietor of the land.

Reports of the the public-private company MD's purchase comes not longer after the public learnt that ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM)'s Parliamentary Group Leader and one of incumbent President Yameen Abdul Gayoom's fervent supporters, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik's purchase of a lavish flat in Hulhumale's Platinum Residences. The lawmaker had claimed that the apartment was purchased on his salary as a member of the People's Majlis, where he will complete his second term next year.

Ruling party's deputy leader Abdul Raheem Abdulla's purchase of two flats in capital city Male' had recently come under public scrutiny as well.

Despite RaajjeMV's multiple attempts, we were unable to get a comment from Maumoon at the time of publishing.

He had however spoken to other media outlets, claiming that the interaction was not regarding purchasing land in the capital city.
