ADK begins special health service for senior citizens
"ADK at Home" aims at providing health care services to senior citizens in the comfort of their homes
The health service will also manage samples needed for laboratory tests, machinery and other equipment needed for treatment without having to visit the hospital
ADK adds that although this service has not yet been covered by any health insurance schemes, discussions are currently underway to include them in Aasandha and other health schemes

A health service titled "ADK at Home" has been introduced for senior citizens in the Maldives by ADK Hospital.

In a press conference at ADK on Monday, ADK's Managing Director Ahmed Affaal said that this service, specialized for citizens above the age of 65, aims at efficiently providing health care facilities to senior citizens in the comfort of their homes.

This service will be provided to eligible citizens after a team from ADK makes assessments to ensure applicants are eligible to receive the service.

The service was introduced in ADK by a team of specialized doctors who had gone abroad to seek knowledge from countries that already provide this service to the elderly.

Affaal said that those who receive this service will be categorized into three groups.

Group 1, Green, will specialize in patients who require the least medical attention, 2, Yellow, specializes in patients who require more medical attention and 3, Red is for patients who are extremely ailing.

MVR 4,500 is required as a registry fee for the Green Package, with a monthly fee of MVR 900.

MVR 4,000 is required as a registry fee for the Yellow Package, with a monthly fee of MVR 1,200.

MVR 3,500 is required as a registry fee for the Red Package, with a monthly fee of MVR 1,500.

While "ADK at Home" aims at providing health care services to senior citizens in the comfort of their homes, it will also manage samples needed for laboratory tests and equipment needed for treatment without having to visit the hospital.

Furthermore, if a situation arises where the patient needs to be brought into the hospital, they will be brought in and immediately admitted to seek the required treatment.

ADK adds that although this service has not yet been covered by health insurance, discussions are currently underway to include them in Aasandha and other health insurance schemes.
