One of the two individuals injured in Lanka accident discharged
Two injured in the accident are; Khalid Abdulla and Aminath Zahir
The accident took place as they were traveling to Colombo from Nuwara Eliya
Ambassador Shareef assured that neither had sustained serious injuries

One of the two individuals injured in an accident in neighboring Sri Lanka, has been discharged from hospital after treatment.

The two injured in the accident that took place while traveling to Colombo from Nuwara Eliya, are; President of Dhaalu atoll School, Khalid Abdulla and Aminath Zahir, leading teacher at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education in Malé City.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, Maldives’ Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mohamed Hussain Shareef said that both individuals are “well” and that the embassy is closely monitoring their status.  

Noting that Zahira is still being treated at hospital, Shareed said that Khalid has been discharged after treatment, adding that neither had sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The accident took place after a van collided with a bus; both vehicles are damaged beyond use.

Khalid and Zahira are in Sri Lanka to take part in an education course.
