Government atrocities must be brought to an end: Joint Opposition
The Joint Opposition Parties strictly condemn the continued oppression and harrasment their leaders face in their reform efforts to expose the administration's illegal acts of corruption
The opposition calls to end intimidation of lawmakers, to liberate political detainees and to implement 01st February SC ruling
They expressed their gratitude for those who stand up against government atrocities and appeals on citizens to continue to raise their voices against tyranny with resilience

The allied opposition parties have called on the administration to stop their political oppression and for the immediate release of political prisoners.

In a statement released on Friday night, the opposition states that the continued oppression their leaders face by the authorities is an effort to halt their reform efforts to expose the administration's illegal acts of corruption, adding that they strictly condemn these wrongdoings.

The opposition calls to end the felonious intimidation of lawmakers and justices of the Maldives courts, to unconditionally liberate those who were illegally arrested and remanded under the state of emergency as well as to implement the Supreme Court ruling issued on the 01st of February by the court's full bench, ordering the realease of prominent political leaders and reinstatement of unseated parliamentarians.

Additionally, the joint opposition calls on incumbent President Yameen to release those whose arrest came under political influence and authoritative orders.

The statement also calls on state institutions to cease the implementation of illicit orders, and security forces to stop obeying them.

Joint Opposition Parties have also expressed their gratitude for those who stand up against government atrocities and appeals on citizens to continue to raise their voices against tyranny with resilience.
