Opposition MDP opens 'snatched' campaign site in Ihavandhoo island
The ‘snatched’ campaign site was built within 42 hours, after the previous site was dismantled by police officers

A campaign site dubbed the ‘snatched’ campaign site has been opened with a flat screen TV for locals to watch RaajjeTV.

It was opened right before a Joint Opposition ceremony in HA Ihavanadhoo on Friday night by opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s parliamentary group leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and the MDP flag was hoisted by its deputy chairperson Ahmed Abdulla.

The ‘snatched’ campaign site was built within 42 hours, after the previous site was dismantled by police officers. The island council president Mohamed Rasheed said that authorities dismantled the site after a large number of locals began going to the site to watch RaajjeTV.

The five members of the Ihavandhoo council has recently been suspended without pay.
