Parliament fire
After eight months, police fail to give details of parliament bathroom fire
MPs say that CCTV cameras inside had been switched off at the time of the fire
The fire took place in a bathroom on the 31st of July 2017 and renovations are yet to commence
The Joint Opposition parties allege that the fire was a plot to halt parliament sessions

Police have failed to give a reason behind the fire that took place in one of the parliament bathrooms.

When inquired about the incident the police media officers continually say that they will 'inform the media after looking into the matter'.

The fire took place eight months earlier and although police have since been saying that they will investigate the case, there have been no details on the matter by the police or security officers at the parliament.

The fire took place in a bathroom on the 31st of July 2017 and renovations to be done on the bathroom had not begun even as 21 days passed.

According to a message sent to parliamentarians, the parliament had cancelled sessions for renovations following the fire. The message added that parliamentarians will be notified of the parliament sessions to be held after renovations.

Although MPs had been sent the notification, parliament sessions had commenced without any renovations done on the bathroom where the fire broke out.

The Joint Opposition parties had expressed concern regarding this matter, alleging that the fire was a plot to halt parliament sessions.

Some MPs have said that CCTV cameras inside had been switched off at the time of the fire.
