A 22-year-old has passed away while out surfing in Thamburudhoo island of Malé atoll.
RaajjeMV understands that the deceased is Abdulla Naail.
According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), he had gone out surfing at around 4pm on Saturday, and police received a missing report at around 4:57pm.
After he was found on the east side of the island, MNDF said that officers had provided him with medical attention, before taking him to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Malé City for further treatment, in the Coastguard’s fast interceptor craft ‘Maafaih’.
Naail’s body has since been transferred to ADK Hospital.
