Detained lawmaker Faris Maumoon’s lawyers have early Tuesday contested the police’s ‘unacceptable’ decision to suspend visits from legal representatives.
Lawyer Mohamed Faisal publicly denounced the move, through a post on his Twitter account on March 20th.

While the police have now slashed visits from lawyers, earlier this week the police had attempted to question him without their presence.
Despite Faris refusing to answer any questions without them present, and them having to question him at another time with his lawyer present, the police had injured him while ‘violent dragging’ him out of his cell.
Faris was on Saturday brought to the capital city, to get an x-ray taken of his shoulder.
