Police have arrested Nazim Sattar, a prominent activist and lawyer, in capital city Malé.
Nazim himself revealed his arrest, and subsequent production at the police headquarters, through a post on Twitter, on Saturday night.

Nazim has recently been active in providing legal representation for detainees arrested at the nightly demonstrations in capital city Malé, calling for President Abdulla Yameen’s resignation.
He has also been heavily vocal about the situation his clients are in incarceration, highlighting abuse of rights and cruel treatment.
