The criminal court has remanded RaajjeTV's Senior Video Journalist Mohamed Wisam and Head of Programmes Amir Saleem for 10 days.
Lawyer Mohamed Nishan who is working on both cases stated that the only evidence submitted was an intelligence report, further saying that the remand was extended with no additional evidence.
Both Wisam and Amir have been charged with identity theft and attempting a criminal offence among many other offences.
While the prosecution asked for a 30 day remand, the lawyer said that the court will only extend their remand after further investigation.
While Wisam and Amir were taken into custody under a court order, Amir was arrested outside the RaajjeTV station mere hours after PPM's PG leader declared that the station had a hand in two recent anti-government videos posted on YouTube, which show three masked men in police uniforms threatening to join the opposition protests.
Along with the two, RaajjeTV's Video Journalist Mohamed Fazeen was arrested from the sidelines of Friday's protest as well. Police had earlier on Saturday disclosed that he had been taken into police custody under the state of emergency decree.
