Former president Mohamed Nasheed appeals on the public to take to the streets to call for the protection of justice and to fight for the return of democracy in the nation.
In a tweet posted on his official twitter account in the early hours of Friday, ex-president wrote that the state of every country will face moments in which the condition adjusts to the happenings.
His tweet further said that the citizens of the nation are calling for the return of democracy and to follow humanity as stated under Islam.
While the ex-president has tweeted this, a rally titled “Huttuva” which translates to “Make it stop” is currently ongoing in the capital Male’ city. Many arrests have been made at Friday’s protest so far, including RaajjeTV’s reporter Mohamed Wisam and Mohamed Fazeen as well as the station’s program head Amir Saleem.
