Opposition politicians who were arrested at the anti-government rally held on Wednesday night have been released a day after their arrest.

North-Mahchangoalhi MP Mariya Didi, Maduvvari MP Mohamed Ameeth, Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain, and former Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam have been released.

They were arrested within the joint opposition supporters who took to the streets on Wednesday evening on Majeedhee Magu of capital city Male'.

While the police continue to make mass arrests at the anti-government rallies being held across the nation, some parliament members who had taken part in the rallies have been apprehended under the state of emergency decree.
