RaajjeMV has received reports that Ihavandhoo MP Mohamed Abdulla has been arrested.
The MP was arrested in the late hours of Sunday afternoon under the State of Emergency.
While the MP was taken to Dhoonidhoo island's Detention Center, police are yet to respond to inquiries regarding the matter.
Along with Mohamed, a few other parliamentarians have as well been arrested under the State of Emergency including Dhiggaru MP Faris Maumoon (nephew of President Abdulla Yameen), Dhangethi MP Ilham Ahmed, South-Mahchangoalhi MP Abdulla Sinan, and South-Galolhu MP Ahmed Mahloof.
Prominent figures in the political sphere are under police custody under the SoE, including Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Abdulla Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed.
