Deputy counsel general at the attorney general's office, Shafeea Riza has resigned from her post.
While the news of Shafeea's resignation spreads, senior state attorney at the AG office, Mariyam Shunana's recent tweet sparked public interest.
Shunana's tweet, addressed to Presidnt Abdulla Yameen, calls to lift the unconstitutional SOE imposed, adding that state of emergency 'should not be used as a weapon to restrict non-derogable liberties under Art 255 of the Constitution'.
Dearest Mr. President, Please lift the unconstitutional SoE imposed. SoE should not be used as a weapon to restrict non-derogable liberties under Art 255 of the Constitution. Thank you.

While a counsel at the office has resigned, there are reports that lawyers at the AG office had filed a petition, against the SoE declared across the country on the 5th of February.
A number of lawyers have stated that the extension was passed through a parliament vote held without the constitutionally required quorum of 43 MPs.
Shunana tweeted later in the night expressing concern over the resignation of fellow employee.
No state employee has to resign from jobs they have been working for many years in order to stand against unlawful acts.
