Criminal Court cancelled Tuesday’s hearing of the case of enforced abduction of missing journalist Ahmed Rilwan Abdullah.

No reason was given for the cancellation.

In Tuesday’s hearing, three of the seven witnesses raised by the prosecution were to give their statements.

Two have been charged with terrorism over Rilwan’s enforced abduction. The two charged are Alif Rauf and Mohamed Nooraddeen.

The first individual to offer his statement was a friend of Rilwan’s who had boarded the same ferry boat to Hulhumale’. The friend had opted to give his statement anonymously, stating that he had met Rilwan around 1am on the day. He had said they were sitting in adjacent seats.

The prosecution had put forth 29 pieces of evidence and witnesses, including Rilwan’s friends and family.

Alif and Nooraddeen had put forth five individuals as their defense.
