MP Ilham's wife arrested, accused of helping the lawmaker stay in hiding

Wife of Dhan’gethi constituency MP Ilham Ahmed, has been arrested.
Aminath Maasha Hassan was arrested on Sunday evening, a few days after police issued a manhunt for the parliamentarian, seeking the public’s help to find him.
A source close to Ilham informed RaajjeMV that Maasha was arrested on allegations that she has been helping her husband to stay in hiding.
Maasha has four children, three with Ilham.
MP Ilham, along with Mahchangoalhi South constituency MP Abdulla Sinan, returned to the country on the 4th of this month, after months abroad. They were taken into police custody upon arrival, but was released the next day, when presented to Criminal Court for their remand hearing.
Later on 9th February, Maldives Police Service (MPS) had issued a manhunt for both lawmakers, over an investigation being carried out by its Economic Crime Department.
