Mahchangolhi South Constituency MP Abdullah Sinan had turned himself over to Maldives Police Service (MPS), shortly after the agency announced a manhunt for the Parliament.
MPS on Friday evening announced a manhunt for MP Sinan and Dhangethi Constituency MP Ilham Ahmed.
Sinan had submitted himself at MPS headquarters of Shaheed Hussain Adam building. However, MP Ilham is yet to answer the summons.
The two were arrested previously as well, but released by Court. They were arrested before, on arrival at the airport. They had been living outside of the Maldives at the time of their return.
Sinan and Ilham are signatories to the motion of no confidence on Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh.
Sinan was a close associate of First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim prior to his deflection to the opposition. MP Ilham was a close associate of the President.
The two are suspect of having accepted bribes to oust the legally elected Government of the Maldives.
