The 33-year-old individual implicated in rape allegations made has been remanded by an additional 10 days.
The judge presiding over the case passed the remand sentence on Monday, and comes on top of an initial 15-day remand.
Hassan Faaiz, native to Thinadhoo island of Gaafu Dhaal Atoll, is accused of assaulting a woman after having convinced her to accompany him to an ‘art studio’.
The woman who alleged that Faaiz had assaulted her had gone to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in capital city Malé for treatment.
Faaiz, in an interview to RaajjeMV and RaajjeTV, has denied the allegations and said that neither the police nor prosecution can find any evidence against him.
