Bangladeshi authorities are to begin a new probe on Raudha Athif’s death.

Raudha, a 21-year-old medical student, was found dead on 29 March 2017 in her dorm room at Islami Bank Medical College, Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi news outlet The Daily Star reported that the Police Bureau of Investigation was ordered by the court to begin a fresh investigation for the fifth time.

Raudha’s death came as a shock to Maldivians, and some have speculated that she was murdered.

Her father Mohamed Athif, a doctor, rejected the finding, but reports from separate investigations have concluded that it was suicide.

A Maldivian police team visiting Rajshahi for five days until April 7 also ruled out the possibility of murder.
