Statistics show overall crime has decreased by five percent

Police statistics have revealed that vandalism cases have increased by 21% in 2017.
455 cases of vandalism were reported to police. This is a quarter of an increase compared to the 359 cases in 2016.
But the statistics also show that overall crime has gone down by five percent; a total of 12,775 criminal offences were reported at 2017, and 13,580 in 2018.
Also in 2017, police received reports of 770 assaults and 3503 thefts.
