RaajjeTV Poll: Qasim as coalition candidate

A poll conducted by RaajjeTV has shown that most of voters had preferred Jumhooree Party leader Qasim Ibrahim as the single candidate for the 2018 Presidential elections.

The poll was opened for a 24-hour period and 10,376 twitter users had cast their votes for the poll.

Qasim won the poll with 43 percent of the votes. Opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) de facto leader Mohamed Nasheed won 25 percent of votes, while Adhaalath Party Chief Sheikh Imran Abdullah claimed 30 percent of votes. Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom won two percent of votes.

One hundred and eighty-nine people had commented on the poll, with 323 retweets and 229 likes.

Qasim Ibrahim is currently in Germany.
