STO raises prices of diesel and petrol, again

The State Trading Organization (STO) has, once again, raised the prices at which it sells petrol and diesel.

The prices were hiked up last month as well.

STO said that from Sunday onwards, the price of diesel will be MVR 9.61 per liter- a 44 percent increase- while petrol is to be sold at 9.87 per liter, a 35 percent increase.

According to STO, the price hike is due to 'a rise in fuel prices in the international market'.
