Government's "Bahaarekey" rally postponed, to be held on Friday "if weather permits"

The government's "Bahaarekey" rally has been postponed to Friday, due to bad weather in the capital Malé City.

A press conference was held on Thursday, where Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer announced the decision to postpone the rally, originally scheduled for Thursday night.

He hinted that the gathering could be postponed again, adding that Friday's rally will be held "if the weather permits".

Also at the press conference, Home Minister Azleen Ahmed emphasized that President Abdulla Yameen will address the public at the special rally, to be held to mark the fourth anniversary of the current administration.

Noting that the gathering will be "full of surprises," Azleen emphasized that this gathering will be a symbol of hope for the people.

Incumbent President Yameen assumed office on 17th November 2013.
