Abdulla Manikufaanu was reported missing on Wednesday night after his family lost contact with him while in Thiruvananthapuram of India.

He was found near a bus stop close to 'Khasis Guesthouse', where they were staying. 

After his family declared him missing, a friend of the parliamentary representative from his native island, MP Mohamed Aslam, had assisted them.

A member of the family expressed gratitude for his assistance and confirmed to RaajjeMV that the 87-year-old is safe.

Abdulla’s family reported him missing after he left their rented guesthouse premises at around 19:00 on Wednesday.

He is from Hithadhoo island of Seenu atoll.
