AG grants “A Star” rating to Pres. Solih’s PO expenses in final year of office

The Auditor General's Office has stated that the expenses during the final year of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration were made in accordance with laws and regulations.
The Compliance Audit Report of the President's Office for the year 2023, released by the Auditor General's Office, states that the revenue and expenditure figures in the statement of approved budget and expenditure for the financial year ended 31 December 2023 of the President's Office match the records in the State's Public Accounting System.
The report goes on to state that, in general, the President's Office's expenditure from the 2023 budget was made for the purposes allocated in the approved budget, within the allocated amounts, and in compliance with the Public Finance Act and Public Finance Regulations.
The final budget allocated to the office for the year 2023 was MVR 230,802,701. Out of this budget, MVR 210,890,760 was spent.
The report states that other financial matters of the President's Office for the year 2023 were, in general, managed and maintained in accordance with the Public Finance Act and Public Finance Regulations.
