The newly renovated Center for Higher Secondary Education has been inaugurated in the capital, Malé City.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the CHSE building in the capital city, after its renovation, on Monday.
Following Monday’s inauguration ceremony, President Muizzu was presented with a commemorative symbol representing the past and present of CHSE.
The president observed a forum titled "Students' Hope for the Nation's Future" with the participation of five students from the school.
During a special assembly held to mark the 45th anniversary of CHSE held on July 3, the president announced the government's decision to reestablish higher secondary education arrangements in Malé this year.
The inauguration of CHSE in Malé provides students in the city the opportunity to pursue higher secondary education at the institution.
The president has previously stated that the government remains committed to expanding opportunities for all students seeking higher secondary education in Malé and across the country.
Currently, 424 students are enrolled at the school.
The Center for Higher Secondary Education first opened its doors on 3 July 1979.
