Discussions have been held on the need for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to be self-sufficient on the path to development.
The discussions were held between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga Siaosi 'Ofakivahafolau Sovaleni.
The meeting was held in Antigua and Barbuda, on the sidelines of the fourth International Conference on SIDS.
Discussions at the meeting revolved around the need for SIDS to be self-sufficient as they steer through development.
Further, they also touched upon room for improvement in the current processes to access multilateral climate funds.
Both leaders expressed commitment to combat the climate crisis and work together to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for all.
