It is important to increase the number of Quran competitions hosted, in efforts to instill love for Quran among children, says First Lady Sajidha Mohamed.
FL Sajidha said this while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Quran Competition 1445.
The Quran Competition 1445 was an initiative of the Child Abuse Prevention Society (CAPS) to commemorate the late Al-Marhoom Ibthihaal.
Stressing the importance of increasing the number of such competitions in a bid to instill the love for Quran in the hearts of young children, FL Sajidha said that it is also important to prioritize hosting Quran competitions, in order to instill Islamic virtues in young minds.
The ceremony held on Thursday night, saw FL Sajidha conferring awards and mementos to the recipients who won first, second, and third place in the competition.
The competition was open to students from Villimalé ward and saw 53 children competing.
It was open to four age groups, including a category for children with special needs.
