President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has concluded a brief tour of some islands in Lhaviyani atoll.
The president departed on the brief official visit to Lhaviyani atoll from Velana International Airport (VIA) on Saturday and concluded his visit later the same day.
A high-level delegation of government officials accompanied the president during the tour.
The visit saw the president visiting three islands of Lhaviyani atoll and engaging in fruitful discussions with the respective island councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) as well as the communities.
During the meetings, discussions revolved around the most urgent needs as well as development concerns of the island communities.
Earlier, the president expressed commitment to visit each island across the nation at least twice within his five-year presidential term.
As part of his ongoing atoll visits, Muizzu has sat down for discussions with a total of 150 local councils so far.
