Discussions have been held on the initiation of a housing project, on Kelaa island of Haa Alif atoll.
This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) on Sunday.
The meeting saw the councilors shedding light on some of the biggest concerns facing the community, as well as their top priorities for the progress of the island.
As such, upgrading the island’s harbor and development of agriculture were noted as some of their biggest development priorities.
The government was also urged to complete the projects initiated on the island by the previous administration, swiftly.
Kelaa councilors urged the administration to implement the projects planned for the island, as well.
The meeting also saw Kelaa WDC members expressing concerns over the overtime allowances as well as other budgetary constraints.
Listening to these concerns, the president expressed commitment to fulfill all the pledges he has made to the island community, as well as to address the challenges raised by the councilors.
