The president of Maldives has visited the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing, China.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu visited the academy on Friday, as part of his ongoing state visit to China.
The president was accorded a warm welcome by representatives from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
The academy’s representatives briefed President Muizzu regarding their specializations.
Further, they showcased some of their agricultural products and made a comprehensive presentation on their innovations.
They went on to express hope for future collaboration with the Maldivian government.
President Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed departed to the People’s Republic of China on a state visit on January 7. The state visit is being conducted upon an official invitation from the President of China, Xi Jinping. The first couple is accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials during the visit.
The Maldivian First Couple is undertaking a visit to China at a time relations between India and Maldives have soured once again, over posts on social media platform ‘X’ by deputy ministers close to the president.
