The government has designated a new land plot for Al Madharusathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyya.
President's Office, via press statement, disclosed that the administration aims to to develop the new building, as part of the "Hafuthaa 14" roadmap.
The allocated land for Arabiyya School is situated at Plot 381 in Malé City. This was formerly a waste collection center.
President's Office states that the construction of the school building is set to commence in accordance with the "Hafuthaa 14" roadmap.
As part of President Dr. Muizzu’s presidential pledges, allocating a specific area for the construction of a new, modernized building for Arabiyya School and facilitating the more effective delivery of an Arabic-medium curriculum were key commitments. He had also previously assured the designation of land and the initiation of building development upon assuming office.
The previous administration on 20 December, 2021, announced that the new building for Arabiyya School, will be built on the plot of land where the old Jamaluddin School was located.
The new building of Arabiyya School was contracted to Amin Constructions.
As such, MVR 168 million was earmarked in the State Budget 2023 for developing the new building for Arabiyya School and the extension building for Jamaluddin School.
