The President’s Office has announced that the National Award for Public Service will be presented at a ceremony on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
The event will take place at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE), at 9am.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will present badges, shields, and certificates to 148 recipients at the ceremony. The award recipients include individuals who have held positions at various levels in State institutions.
The National Award for Public Service is the highest national honor bestowed by the President upon individuals who have served the nation for over 35 years.
The award was first introduced in 2021.
President Solih on Wednesday, conferred the National Award of Honor, the National Award of Recognition, President’s Award for Special Achievement and the Special Medal for Memorizing the Noble Quran.
The awards were conferred during an official ceremony held on Wednesday at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) in commemoration of the Maldives’ 58th anniversary of independence.
This year’s recipients of the awards included 15 individuals who received medals for achieving the highest rank in an academic or skill training course, two honorees were awarded for attaining the highest level in an international exhibition or competition, one individual was recognized for their skill and innovation, and ten individuals were recognized for their outstanding achievement in memorizing the Holy Quran while attaining the highest grade.
The National Award of Honor was conferred upon five recipients and the National Award of Recognition was conferred upon 18 recipients.
During the ceremony, President Solih extended his congratulations to all the recipients. These awards are conferred annually to acknowledge and commend the efforts of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the development of the nation and the betterment of society.
