Vice President Faisal Naseem has attended a dinner hosted by Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

The Maldivian Vice President attended the dinner hosted by the Bangladeshi PM as part of his ongoing official visit to Dhaka, Bangladesh, to attend the sixth Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) 2023.

The dinner was held at the Intercontinental Hotel on Friday.

Sheikh Hasina hosted the dinner in honor of the visiting foreign dignitaries attending the sixth IOC, being held in the capital of Bangladesh from May 12 – 13.

As part of his official visit, VP Naseem delivered his address at the IOC 2023, themed around "Peace, Prosperity, and Partnership for a Resilient Future", the IOC 2023, on Friday.

IOC 2023 aims to bring together key stakeholders to chart the roadmap to strengthen regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region.

As part of his brief visit to Bangladesh, VP Naseem is scheduled to hold meetings with high-level dignitaries as well. He has held a meeting with the Maldivian community residing in Bangladesh as part of the trip.
