The channel breakwater upgrade and shore protection project in Thakandhoo island of Haa Alif atoll is well underway.
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) disclosed this via twitter on Sunday.
The company states that work on channel breakwater upgrade and shore protection is going well.
MTCC also disclosed that harbor pavement installation work is currently ongoing with 14 percent completion.
MTCC mobilized the channel breakwater upgrade and shore protection project in Thakandhoo island on 18 January 2023.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct harbor dredging operations in an area measuring 4,455 cubic meters as well as channel dredging operations in an area measuring 2,230 cubic meters.
The company is also contracted to construct a breakwater measuring 252 meters, a revetment measuring 160 meters and a 126-meter groyne.
The installation of a harbor pavement measuring 883 square meters as well as harbor lights and navigation lights, also come under the scope of the project.
The channel breakwater upgrade and shore protection project in Thakandhoo island is valued at MVR 22.39 million.
