The motion, led by the opposition coalition, was submitted on Monday afternoon, with a total of 45 signatures.

This is the third time that the no-cofidence motion against Maseeh has been submitted to parliament this year; the first one- submitted with 26 signatures- failed as the opposition failed to garner the required number of  votes, while the second one- submitted with 31 signatures in April- was cancelled after an amendment noting that no-confidence motions can be submitted with a minimum of 42 signatures.

42 votes are required to remove the speaker.
