The incumbent administration aims to ensure inclusive education for all children in every atoll and island, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

He said this while speaking at the golden jubilee function of Feydhoo School in Addu City.

Taking the podium at the event, the president shed light on the history of Feydhoo School and announced the administration’s plans to launch a project to develop the new school building, soon.

Highlighting that the administration introduced higher secondary education in all atolls in 2022, President Solih noted that this is a historical achievement in the development and progress observed for the education sector.

Higher secondary education was introduced in Vaavu atoll last year, by the Solih administration.

Touching upon the administration’s efforts to improve children's education and develop human resources across the island nation, the president went on to highlight the success of the administration’s free degree programme as well as the reduction of administrative fees for student loans and extending student loan repayment duration by 25 percent.

Further, he talked about the administration’s significant strides in the progress of the education sector, highlighting that his administration began implementing the first-ever Education Act in the archipelago nation back in 2021, when a satellite school system was introduced.

President Solih went on to note that his administration has ensured substantial pay raises for education sector staff, introduced special duty allowances alongside facilitating training programmes for teachers and principals.

The Maldivian leader, at last nights event also conferred plaques of appreciation to the school staff who has served for over 15 years.
