Ahmed Sofwan, personal assistant to former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has forwarded the case of Ahmed Sofwan to Prosecutor General (PG) Office, after Sofwan had failed to respond to the multiple summons issued by MPS. Sofwan is the personal assistant to former President and ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) elected President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Sofwan has been charged with bribery allegations.
