For the first time in history, a Maldivian couple has welcomed quadruplets.

The family reported that the quadruplets, three girls and a boy, were born on Saturday, at ADK Hospital.

RaajjeMV understands that their father is native to Foakaidhoo of Shaviyani atoll, and the mother hails from Alif Dhaalu Mandhoo.

This was their first pregnancy.

While all four children are healthy, RaajjeMV understands that there was a complication during caesarean, and that the mother required had required. She is stable now.

Born prematurely, four babies are currently in ADK's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
