A week after resigning with New Radiant Sports Club (NRSC), Ali ‘Dhangandey' Ashfaq has had to undergo knee surgery.
In a tweet sent out on Sunday evening, Ashfaq revealed that he had to undergo knee surgery due to a previous injury, vowing to try his best “to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible”.

He thanked those who supported him, including NRSC, Dr. Rifau and the President of the Maldives Red Crescent, Ali Nashid.
Ashfaq resigned with New Radiant on May 21, after a two-year stint in Malaysia’s PDRM FA.
The top goal scorer of all time for the Maldives national football team, Ashfaq began his international career in 2004, three years after making his debut with Club Valencia.
While the 2017 football season continues, STO Malé League is currently on break, and is to resume after 20 days.
